Fasteners Etc., Inc. offers a full line of stainless-steel hex cap screws in both 18-8/304 or A2, as well as 316 or A4. Hex cap screws feature a six-sided head and either a fully threaded or partially threaded shaft. The hex head style can be fastened with a wrench or socket driver, enabling high strength tightening and reliable connections. The minimum tensile strength of a stainless hex cap screws is less than that of a standard grade 5 hex cap screw, around 90,000psi. However, the corrosion resistance is much greater than that of a zinc plated hex cap screw. Many projects in a harsh environment that allows contact with various chemicals or water will require stainless fasteners. If the project requires corrosion resistance to salt water, select a hex cap constructed of 316 or A4 stainless steel for improved corrosion resistance. Stainless fasteners, including hex cap screws, are very common in marine and food service applications for these properties.  Fasteners Etc., Inc. offers a line of both standard and metric stainless hex cap screws as well as stainless steel hex nuts and flat washers
