Coupling Nuts

Coupling nuts, or extension nuts, are used to connect two externally threaded shafts such as threaded rod. The coupling nut has internal threading that allows the external threaded shaft to be inserted on both sides of the coupling nut, joining the two threaded pieces together. The coupling nut is hexagon shaped which is installed with standard tools, such as wrenches. They are found in applications where a longer thread connection is required to extend the assembly’s length. This allows for custom length connections or adjustments during installation to meet the exact length requirement needed.

Reducing coupling nuts are specialized coupling nuts that offer different diameter and pitch requirements on each end of the nut. These specialized nuts are ideal for many repair and maintenance applications where direct replacement isn’t feasible.
