Structural And Heavy Hex Nuts

A structural or heavy hex nut has six sides and a hollow center with internal threading allowing it to fit over an externally threaded shaft. Structural or heavy hex nuts can be used with various structural bolts, threaded rod, or any other material that has external threading that requires a heavy-duty nut. They are similar to finished hex nuts in general shape and application; but are thicker, wider, and comprised of heavier grade steel. Offering heavy hex nuts that conform to the ASTM standards with strict quality measurements to ensure conformity.

When selecting the best heavy hex nut for your application, be certain to consider the strength requirements as well as environmental concerns. Plain steel heavy hex nuts will not be suitable for harsh environments, for example. Additionally, a successful application will require the hex nut diameter and pitch to match that of the accompanying bolt. High load or structural applications will often require a heavy hex nut to secure the connection with a heavy hex bolt. Those might include heavy machinery, bridge construction, or infrastructure projects.
