Thread cutting screws are specifically designed with elements to cut into the base material and form the threads as its driven in. Fasteners Etc., Inc. offers three options to include: 
  • A Type 23 thread cutting screw offers a unique thread profile for cutting into wood and some plastics; therefore, is commonly found in woodworking applications. The sharp point and aggressive thread design allow for a strong holding power and easy installation.
  • A Type 25 thread cutting screw offers unique thread profile for cutting into harder wood and plastics that a Type 23 thread cutting screw might not be able to.  These screws are also utilized in woodworking applications, specifically those that require the extra strength and secure threads for a superior hold.
  • A Type F thread cutting screw is designed for optimal performance to cut into metal, including sheet metal. The sharp threads and tapered point are suited for metalworking applications where strong, secure connections are required.
